Decisive progress has been made in the past days with the production of oil in Big Wells, Texas. The operating principle of the water flooding could be confirmed. After water supply was recently started at the first producer pair, now the nearest vertical well already brings twice the previous quantity of oil to the surface. “Water flooding is working as well as we expected it to be. This confirms that we rely on the right oil production method,” emphasizes operator Bruce Ganer.
As the oil formation reacts very well to the water flooding, more injector / producer units are planned for the next phase to further increase the output at the other vertical wells, too. The target is to produce more than 2,300 barrels of oil per day at full production.
